Happy Halloween! No nerds this year... Bummer! Instead of dressing up this year, we celebrated by carving some pumpkins, roasting the seeds, and making Halloween whoopie pies. We are still waiting on trick-or-treaters to come and take our candy! :) We also tried to dress Teagan up as a mummy, but he didn't appreciate it as much as we did. He did, however, love his Halloween treat (a chirping bird)! :) Hope you all had a safe and fun Halloween. Enjoy the pictures.
Hi, everyone! I'm Teagan. I was adopted in September from the Humane Society. I'm super ornery and I love playing fetch with a straw! I also like wrestling with my monkey and Kyle. I think I'm pretty perfect and I'm VERY spoiled! I hope to meet you some day. I love new friends to play with!

Wow! It is hard to believe it is already fall! We both have already been in school for four weeks and we are feeling the fullness of our schedules. Between second grade lesson plans, college homework, youth group, officiating, preparing for Sunday School, leadership meetings, etc. we try to take time to actually hang out together. :) Enjoy the few fall pictures we are posting. More will be coming soon.

We have officially been living in Kansas for one year and we couldn't be happier! This year has flown by and we have managed to stay super busy as always! :) Moving was a great change for us and we have enjoyed starting over in a new place together. A few highlights of this past year as Kansans....
1. Buying and setting up our first house and working in our new yard.
2. Lisa teaching second grade at an inner city school where she feels blessed each and every day by the kids in class and also by the people she works with.
3. Kyle has loved being a basketball referee and a baseball umpire. He has done over 300 games since January and is still going strong.
4. Getting closer to graduation for both of us! Kyle has one more year before he graduates and begins applying for PT school (He made the Dean's List!! YEA!!) and Lisa is in her last master's class and will finish next month (WOO HOO!).
5. Finding a church we both love, getting involved in the young adult group, Bible studies, VBS, Kyle's a trustee, and going as high school youth sponsors to San Antonio, Texas on a mission trip.
6. Celebrating our 4th Anniversary. That's right, FOURTH!
7. Just enjoying each other, family, friends, and life! :)

Even though Kyle and I aren't huge Valentine's Day celebrators, in honor of the love holiday, I wanted to reflect on things we love.
Lisa's Love List (in no particular order):
Good Teaching Days
Chai Tea lattes
7 and 8 year olds
Feeling welcomed in church
Jeeps with big tires (Yes, I WILL have one someday....)
Kyle, Kyle, Kyle, Kyle, Kyle, Kyle
Perfect weather days
Being from Texas
Having the greatest brother and sister ever
A friendly and positive teacher's lounge
Finding perfect gifts
second grade jokes (Knock, Knock....Who's There...Mrs. Beun...Mrs. Beun who...the rest always seems to vary!)
Mom's sugar cookies, fajitas, egg rolls, cottage potatoes, coffee cake, everything??
Things with straight lines...not a big fan of circles
Cards in the mail
Belly bumps (only with my dad....anyone else, that might be kind of strange....)
Random text messages
Good (and mean) substitute teachers
The man living in my house
The fact my dad (and mom!) didn't let me grow up wussy, girly, or too dependent.
Now....Kyle's pretty excited about completing his love list.... ;)
Kyle's Love List:
Living in Kansas
Being a Basketball Referee
that I will finally graduate next spring
Patsy's egg rolls
any cookies that my wife makes
peanut butter cups
going to Colorado
Sweet tea from Texas Roadhouse
rolls from Texas Roadhouse
steak from Texas Roadhouse
that I have a wonderful wife
a healthy body
building a fort with my wife (and then putting a texas flag on it)
Salsa (my own homemade salsa to be exact)
Trucks (with running lights....that's right, Lisa, running lights)
that Lisa's kids think that I am a celebrity when I show up to school
that everyday is a new day

Who says you have to either be kids or have kids to have fun?! School was called off today due to the weather we already had and what was being predicted. So far, we haven't seen too much of the weather they were predicting. Kyle was getting pretty jealous of all the snow Ohio was getting (and even Texas!) and we got just enough here to ease his jealousy. After we shoveled the driveway, we decided to make a snow fort. Of course it wasn't complete without a flag. :)
